Walpole Youth Lacrosse

The boys Rookie Camp will be held on Thursday, Feb 11, 2010, at Forekicks in Norfolk from 5:30 – 7:00 PM.

The WYLL will be modifying our Rookie Camp this year to include Rookie Coaches. The Rookie Camp will be held on a single night for brand new players who will be playing in the U11, U13, or U15 levels. We will cover the following lacrosse concepts:

• Cradling
• Throwing and Catching
• Ground Balls
• Shooting
• Chalk Talk, to discuss the lacrosse field, player positions, faceoffs, sideline etiquette, etc.

Rookie players should arrive with full equipment: helmet, shoulder pads, elbow pads, gloves, stick, mouth guard, and a cup. If your son does not yet have his equipment, the WYLL recommends the Starter Equipment Package on sale at ComLax in Franklin. Please see the Boys Page for more information regarding the Starter Equipment Package. A bottle of water would be a good idea.

Rookie Coaches in the U9 and U11 levels will be included in the Rookie Camp. Rookie Coaches should arrive at Forekicks 30 minutes prior to the start of the Rookie Camp, at 5:00 PM.

On Thursday, January, 21st, Sean Morris of the Boston Cannons attended and ran a clinic for Walpole Youth Lacrosse’s indoor Fall/Winter program.

Coach Kully Reardon is currently in her ninth year as head coach of the Babson women’s lacrosse team. In her first eight seasons, she has quickly become the winningest coach in program history. Under her guidance, the Beavers have enjoyed the greatest three seasons in program history over the past three springs, posting a combined 46-9 record, winning three straight NEWMAC Championships, and advanced to three consecutive Sweet 16 appearances in the NCAA Tournament. Following the 2007 season, Reardon was named NEWMAC Coach of the Year for the first time in her career.
