Walpole Youth Girls Lacrosse League have been invited to the Mass Elite Girls Lacrosse sale being held at ZoeLax on Wood Road, Braintree. The sale will run for a single date, Wednesday, January 6, from 4 PM – 6 PM.

The WYGLL are in need of a NEW Apparel Coordinator. Donna Foley has done an exceptional job for our program for many years and has asked to be replaced. I thought that it would be great if someone would step up and take this over for Donna and let her go into retirement happily.

The boys and girls programs of Walpole Youth Lacrosse have wrapped up their Spring 2009 season.

The board of directors of both programs would like to thank the players for their hard work and sportsmanship, the parents for their support, the coaches for their dedication, and the MBYLL/FGLL for their guidance.

It’s been a lot of fun boys and girls. Class is now dismissed.

Adam Niden stumbled across a great instructional sports website, Kudda.com.

The folks at Kudda.com have compiled a large library of both boys and girls instructional lacrosse videos. The videos are well produced and cover the game of lacrosse from top to bottom; these videos are a great resource not only for the players in the WYLL and WYGLL programs, but also for the parents of the players who want to know more about the best sport in town.

Welcome to the new WYLL/WYGLL website.

We’re still building out the entire website, so you may find that some pages are not yet completed; we hope to have the entire website completed very soon. In the meantime, have a look around, you should be able to find everything you need under the “Site Map” splash on the left of your screen.

Also, if you look down the orange sidebar running along the left part of the page, you’ll find some useful information:

• Entries RSS Feed. The RSS feed is a useful tool for those of you who make regular use of RSS Readers such as Google, Yahoo, or even Yahoo widgets (my personal favorite). The RSS feed will be updated with the release of each WYLL/WGYL news item. RSS Feed desktop widget can be found here, http://widgets.yahoo.com/gallery/view.php?widget=42031
• Site Map. The Site Map lists all of the pages of our website to help you navigate and find information related to our lacrosse program.
• Filters. Each news item that we post on our site will be categorized to help you filter through information to find just those items that pertain to you. As an example, if you were interested in finding all the information related to the Fall/Winter League, you would simply click on the “Fall/Winter League” filter and we’ll present you with all of the items associated to that subject. It’s quick and painless.
• Register/Login. Nothing to see here, folks, move along. At this point, registration is not required for any part of the website, other than for the webmaster, board members, and coaches who are allowed to post news items on the website.
• Turco Field. Turco Field is open for business! However, the Friends of the Walpole Community Athletic Complex still need your help. Please donate to our home field.

Our new website, like many of the latest websites on the internet, has been optimized for the FireFox 3, Opera 9, and Internet Explorer 7+ browsers.
