Commitment Policy for Girls Lacrosse
Walpole Girls Lacrosse is a volunteer organization. We have a fantastic team of dedicated coaches, who place a lot of time and effort, into practices and game days. Our coaches are committed to teaching the girls in our Youth Lacrosse program the skills necessary to be a successful player and teammate.
*Mission of our League: To teach our players the fundamentals and skill set needed to play and enjoy the game of lacrosse.
*Levels: We have three levels of players, which consist of the following divisions.
U-11- 3rd and 4th Graders
U-13- 5th and 6th Graders
U-15- 7th and 8th Graders
We are a developmental league. Therefore, in each level of players, multiple balanced teams are selected in regards to playing ability, at each age grouping. We work hard to ensure that each team has an even distribution of skill sets.
*Practice: Walpole Girls Lacrosse holds 2 group practices per week. The coaches use this time to teach our players the mechanics, and game of Lacrosse. Ultimately, the more time a player dedicates to practices, the better she will become as a player of Lacrosse. In order to grow as a team, we strongly encourage all girls in each level to attend both practices each week. At the older level, full participation is paramount to the success of the team.
*Practice days and times will vary at each level, and players and parents will receive notifications of those times from each division coordinator.
Games: We have eight scheduled games per season. We will have games at our home fields in Walpole, as well as away, in surrounding towns.
*Girls at every age level are encouraged to attend every game.
*Additional game opportunities, at certain levels, may become available during the season to those players who are interested.
Communication:
*Coaches at each level will communicate their expectations of players on each individual team.
*Open communication between parents, players, and coaches is encouraged.
*If your daughter is unable to attend a practice, or game, please notify your daughter’s coach as soon as possible.
